I have seen a few of these driving around in Charlotte. Let's hope more vendors and consumers switch from gas to electric in the near future. I know I am considering it.

They should make them in California, since that's where most of them will end up.

One thing is for sure, this article has lasted here nearly 3 times as long as a Leaf would last on a single charge

Good luck Nissan. If EV's can make it in the US they might be viable elsewhere but personally I don't think the technology is ready to be accepted as a substitute for personal transportation quite yet.

Lots of advertising here to get our attention and take away valuable time. If you don't like the complaining then just don't read it.

Nissan Begins U.S. Assembly Of 2013 Leaf Electric Vehicle And Batteries. Good for the people hired for the jobs, Smyrna, and Tennessee – little help from the federal government and their overspending with useless subsidies the taxpayers will have to pay back. 'Coming out of the closet' Sneeky's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, the jobs are Not here. Sneeky's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population and the job numbers continue to be down! EV's and Plug In Inbreds have a very long way to go before they will be the 'Norm.' My vehicle was paid for many years ago and I will drive my current vehicle into the ground before buying anything new, used, EV, Inbred, diesel, hydrogen, alternative fuel, CNG, concept and certainly NOT a Fiat, Prius, Tesla, Leaf, Volt or an NYC/ Hurricane Sandy Special 'exploding submarine' Fiskar Karma Inbred! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII! - The Day After......

I live near this plant. I know people who work for Nissan North America in Franklin. I might even know people who work at the Nissan plant itself. Nissan has been great for this area. Tennessee is a right to work state and we have no income tax. Huh. Imagine that.
