Right. Just like he was "evolving" on gay-marriage. Yup, just go wherever the shifting political winds take you. This Empty Suit demonstrates the worst political pandering that I have EVER seen. What's it going to be tomorrow? And all you Liberal Lemmings buy into it. How pathetic.

So, is this an admission that the peak oil theory is wrong?
If energy is so abundant, why is it so expensive? In our area of SC, the price of a gallon of regular gas is hovering right around $3.50 per gallon. That is probably low compared to some places, but high for here.

Typical of this administration. Use a statement that sounds good. Who doesn't want things done safely? Then go way off on a tangent by burying them with regulations and paper work. Ethanol is a example where something sounded good, but they keep regulating and wasting our tax money, until they have made the fuel useless. Poor fuel economy, won't keep, and destroys engines just to name a few!

Okay, so according to the White House, there is an abundance of oil, demand is lower than it has ever been and there is no problem with the energy policies.
According to reality, gas prices for the entire year of 2012 have never been higher, on an annualized basis. High gas prices are choking the economy. High gas prices are raising the prices of everything from food to services. The higher prices of everything is hurting the working person. The very person that the White House keeps telling us, is the one that they are looking out for.

"Zichal noted the administration is finalizing new rules for disclosing chemicals used in fracking on public lands, and tougher standards for fracking wells and wastewater.
"We're not glossing over the challenges of natural gas development, but we're also not ignoring the opportunity natural gas presents for jobs and for the climate," she said."
Can't ask for more than that.

'fluid policy' sounds a bit like 'jumbo shrimp' to me. Policy is supposed to set the direction, not follow it.

The article said The White House wants to ensure oil and gas production is done as safety as possible, while investing in research and development of renewable
This is Obama's way of saying "we're going to put more roadblocks to more production in place"

Obama's administration is "fluid" on everything - he proposed the sequestration bill and now he's blaming everyone else for the "dire consequences" if it happens. Of course it is only a cut in the increase of spending but that is overlooked.

You said it right danreino. Your energy costs will increase. Thanks to all the new regulations and fines. But look on the bright side. The money is being well spent on bankrupt green energy companies and projects.
