going up, going down, steady, going up, going down, steady... I guess that's stability, too?

the only thing stable about gas prices is that you can expect them to keep going up.

Not really. Speculators don't make money on flat prices.

Maybe not the national average, but the local prices around here have been up and down like a yoyo.

The problem is it should be going down. So in this case stability is a bad thing.

Thought the chart in this article was interesting. AAA put average American gasoline consumption at 1.140 gallons annually, or 22 gallons per week. I'd love to see GasBuddy ask in the Sunday poll, "How many gallons, per week, does the average GasBuddy member buy?". Personally, triple A has us pegged. We try to stay at 10 gallons of gas for the car, 10 gals of diesel for the truck, per week. How do they know? Spooky.

They made a profit when gas was sold at $0.25 a gallon. Gas is to high.

Stable would be nice, but recently the trend around here is when the price gets close to $3/gal then the refineries jack up the price 15-25 cents and then down it comes again very slowly.
