Gas Prices Stabilize Heading Into Big Shopping Season

Central Coast News -- Salinas, Calif.-Thanksgiving 2012 is over, Black Friday is done...now the shopping season goes cyber for Monday and gas prices seem to be behaving.

The most recent prices for the central coast show stabilization or slightly lowering. Either way we'll take it.

For the Salinas area, the prices are down slightly from this time last week. Sunday's price averaged 3-72 for a gallon of regular. Down from 3-79 a week ago. You can find a low of 3.48 for a gallon of regular at the Safeway on Constitution Avenue.

For the Watsonville and Santa Cruz areas the price is a little lower at 3-69 for a gallon of regular. That's down eight cents from last week's price of 3-77

in Dec, 2008, after Bummer won election first time, gas at the pump was about $ 1.79 per gallon. I don't remember him bragging about DOUBLING prices on his watch.
