Has anyone really used the price charts and compared various cities?
It is truly interesting to see how some city gas prices spike with every studder in the crude price....while other are long smooth increase or decreases.
For example, Louisville and Lexington spike contineously....while NYC or Montgomery AL though $0.40 apart both are smooth transitions.

To stabilize gasoline prices we need competition. Otherwise we need price control. With utilities the government regulates the rates. If we want to keep the government out of it, we need alternative fuels independent of the oil companies.
Lobby congress to actively support alternative energy. The oil companies are lobbying congress to support oil without any regulation. Congress will listen to their constituents. Call, write, or e-mail them. They need to hear from thousands of us daily until they get the message. If they don't listen, vote the incumbents out. Look at the mess this country is in, the incumbents are not doing anything worthwhile anyway. We have nothing to loose.

Conserve and drive smart. Plan for the future by drilling. Converting your vehicle to natural or propane type gas is cheaper in the short and long run than buying a new electric vehicle. You can then wait until those production cost become more reasonable. Push for term limitations.

Moving home is OK if that is what you want, but to save money I think not. I ask how much gas could you buy with the money it cost to move back home. (my guess is a bunch).

Just Keep waiting on Ike because Ike is cake no more a 2 on the scale. The only thing it did was flood a 3rd world country but the flood waters will go down, Also gas dropped this morning, check out www.wtrg.com it will let you know light sweet crude dropped to 106.23 -$1.66. And Ipe Brint dropped $2.21 a barrel to $104.09. Oil they say will be down to $65.00 to $70.00 a barrel by December.

Everything, every where is feeling the pinch. Even in the raises or lack there of from their employers mine included. I am not even able to put into my 401k at the moment because I need the $$ for gas. I don't forsee it getting any better; if anything it is going to get much worse. As anyone that works in Finance like me. We are seeing the writing but no one want to listen and do anything about it - until it is to late.

Gas prices is only the tip of the iceberg.
Even if Peak Oil isn't the culprit (which I believe it is), oil prices can only go up for the simple reason that oil is priced in US Dollars. And the national debt, both the stated as well as the yet-unfunded obligations of social security and medicare, will keep on degrading the dollar. The more the dollar degrades, the higher oil prices will be.
Watch I.O.U.S.A. This country's economy is in deep doo doo. Gas prices is nothing compared to what's coming up.

Yeah, at the top of the list. Second, natural gas prices this winter. Third, food. Forth, everything else - all at once.
