If former US Ambassador John Bolton was a crack pot, then his analysis of the geopolitical effects possible on the world energy market in the near future due to the efforts of Russia, Iran, Libya, Egypt, Syria and China would not be a cause for worry. However, Ambassador Bolton is not a crack pot but is a very knowledgeable and gifted foreign policy expert whose opinion carries a great deal of credibility. His assessment of the possible national security and economic effects of the Russian drive to be a world power again, the Chinese drive for economic, military and political supremacy over the entire Western Pacific, the Islamic radicals takeover of the Arab spring uprisings in Egypt, Libya, probably Syria, Iraq, added to the Ayatollah led Iran are cause for a great deal of caution and concern.
One wonders if those who criticize the chant of "Drill, baby drill." have any clue about world affairs and how these world affairs can effect their personal dinner table.

Yet another reason we need to access our own resources so that we are not dependent on foreign oil. In addition, oil companies should pay hefty tariffs on all the excess record exports. Our American resources belong to America, not China!

And Obama has shown he is their friend more so than most of us...apologizing to each of the mentioned groups and countries for the actions and attitudes of US citizens!

IF THE CURRENT ADMIN HADN'T DELAYED THE XL PIPELINE & ANY NEW OIL WELL EXPLORATION. WE WOULDN'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THE ENERGY FOR ANOTHER 100 YRS. IN THAT TIME WE COULD HAVE VASTLY IMPROVED OTHER ALTERNATE ENERGY sources. They have a misplaced all or none attitude about many policies.

What about all the oil we have, and it's potential? The speculators aren't thinking about that.

The US spends more on military research than China, the World's 2nd biggest defense spender, does on their entire military. The American taxpayer is paying the bills for the entire free world.

We would be wise to continue or move on from oil and into more hybrid and natural gas. Keep all natural gas in the US and use it more for independence from oil.

So what happened to the talk about the US being a bigger oil producer than the Middle East? We need to go after more of our own oil and gas, not import it from the cartels!
