John Kerry Owns Stock in Canadian Pro-Keystone XL Firms

InsideClimateNews -- John Kerry's expected cakewalk to the U.S. State Department has delighted American environmentalists due to his stance on climate change, but the longtime senator owns stock in two Canadian oil companies that have pushed for approval of TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline.

Federal financial disclosure records show Kerry has investments of as much as US$750,000 in Suncor, a Calgary-based energy company whose CEO has urged the U.S. to greenlight TransCanada's controversial project.

John Kerry’s investments are in a blind trust. He may or may not own those stocks and, if he does, he most likely did not make the buy himself and most likely is unaware of such holdings. He may not even know of those specific investments. YOU may hold shares in these companies and not know it if you have pensions or mutual funds.

So he's been a smart investor. He's also been a great Senator and served the United States of America very well! Should every elected official be flogged for making great investments? I guess that we're going to have to clear out every governor, state official, to every office in our US government for their investments. When you have money, you make money.
