You couple this event with NH suing Shell/Sunoco for water contamination, this is just the beginning. Lets not forget Wyoming that is still brewing in the background; that's also not looking good for oil! Water is more important to the majority!

It would appear that some of the fine people of Colorado enjoy their drinking water without toxic additives from fracking.

This bears repeating, "Longmont first city in Colorado to ban 'fracking.' That's right - just say NO! Enough is Enough! The ground water is to be protected at all costs, you can't drink polluted water with treating it!"...Tomok

I'm not seeing where they have put a ban on low cost gas or power produced with fracking derived fuel. Maybe I'm missing something, they want others to shoulder the load so they reap the benefits. Pure NIMBY and hypocrisy to boot.

Longmont first city in Colorado to ban 'fracking.' That's right - just say NO! Enough is Enough! The ground water is to be protected at all costs, you can't drink polluted water with treating it! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII!

"Probably just as well in Colorado. Considering they just legalized marijuana, I'd rather do without all the accidents caused by stoned workers."
And you are alleging there are no stoned workjers in Texas illegally smoking pot? LOL.

If I had property within the boundaries of Longmont and had leases for fracking wells, I'd joining the oil companies in a suit against the city for seizing my income without full due process... and for Longmont not to expect Big Oil to retaliate is short-sighted. It'll be interesting to watch this play out.

Tree-huggers win again.
Shortly they will complain about high prices. CA does the same thing then hits US Gov't up for bail-outs.
